"Rom Say Sok" is the second featured music video from DENGUE FEVER's latest release, THE DEEPEST LAKE, and features fully harmonized vocals from Zac & Nimol.

The song tells the tale of a legendary Khmer woman, who was teased about her very long, magical hair. When her enemies sent torrential rains and a giant alligator to destroy her, she used her hair to dry up all of the water and kill the alligator.

It's also about another magical contemporary Khmer woman, a friend of ours in Cambodia who was teased as a child for her unique and wild hair, but who has risen above all of that to become a very talented artist and a lovely human being.

I can't believe this only has just a little over 30,000 hits. THIS IS GREAT STUFF! It's a shame that awesome music like this goes practically unnoticed by the general public. DENGUE FEVER, YOU ALL ARE FLAT FASNTASTIC!!  KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!! This world music collector really appreciates the fact your keeping the 60's style Cambodian rock sound alive!! I'm a big fan of Ros Sereysothea!! Love peace and respect from Oklahoma, USA!!

The song sounds great but they have a lot of songs that sound great. I really like how light and colors are used in this video. Those kind of effects could so easily have gone cheesy, but they simply stay beautiful all the way to the end of the song.

Love the song, love the video, love the album! I was one of the contributors (small time). Loved being able to listen to the mp3s until the CD arrived. Thanks for the music, come to Florida!

It's a love story about a king who goes to pray in the forest and meets a lady named Rom Say Sok. They fall in love and the king promises to marry her. He returns to his kingdom, but is told he must marry royalty. Meanwhile, Rom Say Sok becomes friends with a crocodile. When the Rom Soy Soklearns the king has married someon else, she is very sad. Her friend the crocodile decides to get back at the king and a fierce battle at sea ensues between the crocodile sees the king sailing in his ship. The king throws a chicken coop at the crocodile, but the crocodile in return snaps the king's ship in two so that the sails fall into the water, and the ship sinks. Rom Say Sok dips her magical hair into the sea, and sucks up all the water, leaving behind only the ship, the sails, the crocodile, and the chicken coop. As the years pass, they are covered in earth and trees, and become mountains, which are now called Sail Mountain, Ship Mountain, Crocodile Mountain and Chicken Coop Mountain. A lovely story, isn't it? There is a statue of Rom Say Sok at one of the roundabouts in Battambang.

Awesome song and video that should tide me over until my blue vinyl arrives, which will likely be delayed due to a blizzard.
