Keith Richards appearance gives me goosebumps, and not in a positive way! This is the opposite of cool...its sad. Eventually you see this with all the longterm addicts. Its just impossible to watch someone so drugged and damaged by that same drugs...Surely Keith is very talented but man, did the dope f*ck him over! Maybe he should stick to playing the guitar, and let others do the talking. Get that monkey of your back before its too late, all you talented people!

With Ian Stewart...remember that.

They are thinking just in money and tv time. There is no time to do silence...and silence doesn't do money.

@EvilAnticsLive cont. We're all Stones fans obviously and can have different opinions. For me, the albums they put out, the way they played live, no one could compair to MT and Keith. I think the MT era was the best and my favorite albums. There would be no Sticky Fingers, Exile, Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock And Roll. Live they were the best. To me hands down MT had the biggest influence on the band in his time.

Mick Jagger

@TheRabidPosum ...Jones is the one that created the band.

@EvilAnticsLive Cont. I think The Stones would have taken a totally different path had they continued with Brian, or someone else had taken his place. Like it or not he was barly present for studio sessions on Satanic Majesties, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed, although played important parts on them. They couldn't go on the road with him, that's why they let him go.

@EvilAnticsLive To say Jones is soly responsible for the formation of the stones is crazy. Not getting into that Jones was the leader for the first couple years and albums when they were doing blues covers, until Mick and Keith started writing their own material. He continued to have influence in the mid to late 60's but not as much. I'm not saying Brian wasn't important.

@psychkoala They actually tried it once in 1981 when Mick joined the band at their St. Louis gig. It apparently didn't work out so well according to Ronnie. Mick "bulldozed" through songs, took uninvited solos, etc. Don't bother looking for the bootleg, Mick wasn't plugged into the soundboard so he can't be heard. It might work with some rehearsals, but I think it would be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen.

Mick Jagger

@jbrown1169 exactly. Brian is the man.

@TheRabidPosum Nope. Jones>Taylor. No Jones, no Stones. Acknowledge that fact. Plus, they were more diverse when it came to genres. All Taylor played was blues and rock. Jones made the Stones the greatest rock in roll band in the world by leading them to that point, I reckon if anyone would have been in Taylor's spot they'd still be "the greatest."

@TheRabidPosum I like Mick Taylor as much as the next guy, Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main St. are my two favorite albums, but to say Mick had more influence than Brian is just ridiculous. Mick was a better guitar player sure, but as far as influence goes, Brian MADE the Stones. Jones pretty much put the band together, was the architect of it, came up with the name, and was as important to their early success as Jagger and Richards put together.

@sjconker64 He is a great guy. He should rejoin the Stones- they can have three guitar players ! It would actually work because they're the type of musicians who know how to weave guitar lines in and out.

The Stones were a top act, competitor to the Beatles, long before MT (and Ronnie) came along. They already proved themselves way before 1969- although there's no doubt MT was great guitarist.

@TheRabidPosum Your statement about Brian is ridiculous. He is the bands founder. And after Ian Stewart he is the one owed the most attention that isn't getting it.

Mick Jagger

@TheRabidPosum You would know the Stones today if Mick Taylor were out of the picture. The guy was a great guitarist, but did very little lyrics wise and helped make some outstanding riffs (Ventilator Blues) from here to there. Don't make Taylor something TOO large, Brian Jones was the Rolling Stones; the creator. If not for him, then literally no Stones. The man had such a musical impact for them, widening their ranges, and being able to play tons of instruments. Don't underestimate what he did
