besides using the handle of your platinum coke spoon for a plectrum, make sure the B string, the second tone of triads/chords in open G tuning as used in this song, is about 13 cents flat from equal-tempered tuning. trust your ears and tune it to get the precise sound that you hear on this recording. tuning it to open G with a chromatic tuner will sound like shit. it takes a little practice, but hearing the pure ringing tone of a guitar tuned in just intonation is a very sensuous sound.

tune the 3rd fret of G string to Bb in tune with this recording (the recording is 25 cents flat of A440 tuning), then tune guitar to open G: DGDGBD. barre the 3rd fret for the tonic, Bb, the main chord played, and strum along (you can use a capo on the 3rd fret, but i don't). then the chord changes are to F, barre the 10th fret, and to Eb, barre the 8th fret. you can hear the chord changes pretty easily. for a plectrum i use the handle of my platinum coke spoon, and it sounds really authentic.
