First thought:My God, 20+ years of hosting the TONIGHT Show has aged Leno (he'd only officially had the job a month at this point)...Second thought:I never realized how deep the Celtic roots of the music of the Who were, until I heard this performance on the night of its original broadcast. I was floored then, and I'm floored now. This is my favorite Who-tune of all time, and I never thought the perfection of their original recording of this could be equaled......but by the Chieftains and Daltrey doing something different with it, and correctly so, they have achieved an equally brilliant, perfect performance.

Compare this with the rap crap and squealing, auto-toned shit that people take for "music" today.

This music is unmatched... todays music has no soul. It's just a flash in the pan. anything between the 50's to the late 70's had the best music. Well written and played with heart.

Just making an observation here, but does it seem like he's a little ahead of the music to anyone else?

So sensitively done that it probably surpassed Pete's version; that is really saying something. Kudos Roger and Chieftains; beautiful meld.

Great singer and brilliant song. I love Limp Bizkits version, but find it hard deciding whose version I like better, Rogers or Petes!.
