this track is on a Fountains of Wayne double album of b-sides and extras I bought years ago and I always assumed this was their song, but it turns out it wasn't.

Quite possibly one of the most underrated artists ever who deserved and audience far bigger than he has had, fantastic lyricist. The amount of people who have heard me playing stuff who've said Wow who's that and become fans. Kevin, you're a lucky man having worked on his stuff.

This song reminds me of the long-distance relationship I had with a lovely man from Inverness. I used to stand at Killermont Street awaiting eagerly the arrival of my bus at Buchanan Bus Station, sometimes singing this wee song (quietly in my head of course, cos I'm tone deaf). That was almost 2 years ago. We're engaged now. Thanks for posting this.
