My mother is into this late career version of Stewart with all the balladry and cover songs. I'm not even sure she knew who he was in the 70s. I borrowed this album the other day to play while driving. I thought that this one and the Creedence cover were inhthe standout tracks. Most of those other covers are pretty lame, imo. It's like he's trying to appeal to an audience of 65+ older women who aren't familiar with his recording history. He's become the modern day Englebert Humperdinck. In fact, I think Humperdinck covered this one too. It's a great song, so it's hard to ruin it

Heard this cover on BBC radio mersey side for the first time this week and really liked, it, an excellent version of a great song. Even sounds like George Harrison playing slide.
