Welsh band Rockin 58 play The Blasters Marie Marie, which was a hit in 1980 for Welshman Shakin Stevens. The pictures of Welsh jivers are from the Valley Jive (held at Llanbradach Social Club on the first Friday of the month) and South Wales Rock'n'Roll Club (held at Taffs Well Ex-Servicemans Club)

Rockin 58 are Steve Kennedy (vocals), Jules Symes (lead guitar & vocals), Tony Folland (rhythm guitar), Mark Tucker (bass & vocals) and Roger Drye (drums).

When Steve Kennedy met Mark Tucker in 1997 they decided to form a rock'n'roll band together. In 2011 they finally did, and Rockin 58 was born when Mark introduced Steve to some musician friends he had met over the years.

Steve, the former vocalist with The Stingrays lists his main influence as Shakin' Stevens, obviously Elvis Presley as well, and even Mark's 1980's rockabilly band Nervous Breakdown.

Mark likes any music from south of the Mason Dixon line, or from the south of Wales like Crazy Cavan 'n' the Rhythm Rockers or Dave Edmunds.

Jules first met Mark in the late 80's when they worked together delivering pianos. Jules pedigree includes playing guitar in an Elvis tribute show, his influences are of course guitarists James Burton and Scotty Moore.

Tony and Mark have known each other since 1993, playing together in a rockin band called Putting On The Style. He likes all the old rockers from Eddie Cochran to the Stray Cats, and Wilko Johnson!

Rog met Mark in 2000 when the two played in the 60's and 70's pub band Second Chance. His first love may not be music from the 50's but it's growing on him and he is a great rock'n'roll drummer.
