Stephen, Robin Jolley had a big hit in mid-1974 with "Song & dance man". It was in B-flat, & was about a fictional itinerant entertainer.

Did Robin Jolley sing with/or anything else? Got this on Ripper74 or some compilation album when I was 10ish. Liked this but wouldn't own up to it as it was a bit .. for the girls sort of thing and us blokes (blokes at ten.. only in Aus) couldn't let something that suss out now could we. ;)

You can fade it at 3 minutes, and it becomes a bit tighter. I think the song was about marshall amps. I always thought Robin was a bimbo, but he had a strong voice and there's some great footage of him hanging out with Lobby Lloyd and Molly Meldrum in 1967.

A very good friend of mine through primary school - Robin. I still occasionally call the family. Made #1 or #2 all around OZ in its day - great track and strong voice Robin always had. Maybe he got its strength by playing cornet when he was quite young :)

Haven't heard this song since I was a 9 year old in 1972. Cute song, but what was the point of it ( What was it supposed to be about ) and did anyone notice how many times he sang the chorus at the end? Oh well, it's a Bubblegum song it doesn't have to have any point.

Would I be wrong in saying that they came to my primary school in Melbourne in the 70s or was I just dreaming?
