it was believed by Whitey that they meant Satan it was Papa Legba who is at the crossroads, not a devil there, in Voodoo there is no such thing a devil is usually a person with bad character . Legba is kind and also trickster (nothing like the AHS portrayed ) part of him, he can make deals but usually it is more of an offering and he grants it and he doesn't collect souls that is Baron Samedi's job

Desconfio que o termo "rock" tenha a ver com o pacto de Robert Johnson com o diabo. Robert's contract ( O pacto de Robert) - ROCK., ou Robert´s cross road (A encruzilhada de Robert)

He got poisoned with Antifreeze. The broad he was smashing was married to the guy who owned the joint. The guy also had a car and gave Bob a ride. It's a very crappy thing to do to bang someones wife who's supposed to be your friend but telling them they're drinking sweet corn whiskey when it's really spiked with Antifreeze isn't right in anyway. That antifreeeze fucked Robert up and he suffered. He should've known better. If you're doing someonw wrong don't be so arrogant to think they don't know about it. Just by virtue don't take nothing from them. I guess it's a way to delude yourself in to thinking you're a good person by still socializing and being friends with them and acting like nothing's wrong but when you're on the ground howling like a dog in pain because your innards are being torn up it's your own fault.

Amazing that in the credits of the short film that Robert Johnson isn't credited for the song you used. Popular artists have been ripping off, borrowing, thieving his music for decades. I guess nothing has changed.

So, so good! Read somewhere that they sped up this recording before they released it in the 30's to make it sound like he was faster than he actually was.. true or not, what a guitar player!

Nice video. Though the Crossroads seems to have been the name - or location - of a cemetery, the lyrics of the song treat it as a standard road-crossing, where the singer is trying to hitch a ride but failing.
