Bil showcasing his tone textures. Very controlled and complimenting the music. I like this better than his raspy power belting.

Damn Black people can make any song sound a thousand times better than the original! I listened to the David bowie version to compare and it doesn't grip me at all compared to Robert Glapser's

I read the lyrics for this for the first time today. Its deep. I need to pay attention to lyrical content and not just the song lol. wow.

The drumbeat ruins the song. It would've been 100x better without it

I had to document my ardent appreciation for this amazing recording. Bilal's phrasing and note selection is absolutely brilliant! There are places in this recording where the timbre of Bilal's voice brings forth a very emotional "edge" emphasizing the pain he's attempting to convey with the lyrics. Bilal and Robert Glasper have created one of my favorite jazz recordings with this piece. Thank you both for your obvious dedication to your craft. As an inspiring jazz vocalist, I find myself frustrated that this and other pieces like it are not prevalent on American radio stations. Jazz, born here on American soil, has been moved from the back burner to a shelf somewhere in the kitchen. Thank you for keeping this genre beautifully ALIVE!!!

This song sets a great vibe.  It makes me think of that someone that I would like to be with but circumstances prevent it.
