can somene tell me something. i have dvd about learning to play guitar but he only used a pick. how do i do all those lessons with fingers?

My question would be, What exactly are you saying when you have something to say? Are there words that goes with the notes? Or is it just expression like, Happy, Sad, Confused, Surprised, ect. Or both! Because when a player says I am expressing and I am talking. Is this all the same thing or different? Because without words, You can say you are saying something all day and nobody will ever know what your saying. But expressing yourself is really easy to pick up on. Play hard or soft or fast or slow or a mix of these together. Meaning hard and slow and fast and hard. Or soft and slow and hard and fast. Basically called dynamics. I just don't get the, I am saying part.
