I remember this game so damn well. At the time I thought by far the best thing about it was the music; that feeling hasn't changed one bit.

1987. There are parts that sound like contemporary electro, and equally huge slices of 80s indulgence. Genius, I love what Hubbard squeezed out of that chip.

I feel almost certain that when Commodore designed the C64 they didn't realise it would end up sounding this good.

For a 1982 computer the 3 channel synthesized sound was absolutely incredible and Rob Hubbard was the 1st person to really use the SID chip in what I think was 1984. The next computer to beat it was the Commodore Amiga in 1986 with 4 channel full sampled sound or synthesized. Many computers came out after the Commodore 64 and didn't have close to as good sound, E.g. The Atari ST which was released in late 1985 only had 3 channel sound with very limited synthesis capabilities.

I bought this game when I was a kid for 50p ... I was a bit reluctant, but my Dad said I should get it ... turned out to be my favorite C64 game! :) I loved the music because it was far better than most other games I had, plus the game was quite addictive - my and my brother used to play 2-player for hours! Thanks for posting this Her Hubbard :D

Sometimes i was just sitting there and listening to the music instead of playing the games.

For me this stands out as the greatest piece of video game music in existence. Cracking tune and awesome use of the C64 hardware. Music AND coding genius - Mr Hubbard!
