RJD2: Work It Out - HD video free download

"Post hip-hop troubadour RJD2 teamed with dance and media artist Bill Shannon for the 'Work It Out' video. Shannon, born with a degenerative hip condition, developed a way to express himself through dance (and even skateboarding) on crutches. Director Joey Garfield took to the streets of New York and captured one continuous shot of Shannon, injecting RJD2 into random roles throughout the video."

Note: I did not create this video, I uploaded it solely because I did not see a high quality version up, and would love to spread this to others, because it is so excellent and symbolic.

I saw this video a long long while ago, probably around when it first came out, and I didn't even realize that this is one of my favorite artists. Was just looking up "Work It Out" after listening to it in the car, and then this video pops back up! Awesome!!!

I could watch Bill Shannon dance aaaaall daaaaay. It's almost like he's floating. (Also is it my imagination or is there another, slightly different version of this video as well?)

For some reason I have this hilarious mental image of you and RJD2 booking it after each cameo to the next location to make it in time.

Hey mate, never thought I'd hear from you directly! Good to know I'm not going crazy. I agree that this version feels way more flowy, and it has these wonderful details that you just can't plan for, like the sunset creating golden lights dancing across the lens, the bus stop, and the girl on her cell phone getting cut off (ha). Gorgeous job on everyone's part who worked on this.

All freestyle with cues to meet up with RJD2 in Blue Plaid on Stairs, in Orange JumpSuit / Broom, Skater Dude x2 and Guy Descending Stairs at the ending. The only other planned event was the circle around while I was on the board to allow the Steadycam operator time to catchup.. The pole freeze only happened on this take, I pulled wallrides on most of the takes and the music was playing with each take carried alongside the action by the director Joey Garfield with a boombox.

we did 16 takes.. This above is # 16 and by far the most popular. There was also a #8 I believe that went out. The #8 version was a bit less flowish IMO but had a couple of more "tricks" in the mix..
