This is hardcore if it wasnt I would detest it. It is very powerful hardcore ala Bad Brains. Whatever this band is genius and still fresh.

I really don't remember there being any emo kids even in the late '90s. I'm sure there might have been a few around somewhere, but emo was fairly unknown until 2002-03. I think in it's early years (1985-2001) you really had to be deep into the scene. 2002 on, and it's trendy and mainstream. It was extremely underground then though.

Really people, how gives a rats ass about 'emo'. Rites of Spring were a fucking amazing band, period. Let the music speak for itself.

Sorry to double-post, I didn't understand what "pending approval" meant

Pfft haha! I wasn't expecting to see a lame "emo" battle on a Rites of Spring video. At no point has that meaningless pseudo-label ever entered my mind whilst rockin old Dischord albums, and I think Guy would agree: 'I've never recognized "emo" as a genre of music. I always thought it was the most retarded term ever... honestly, I just thought all the bands I played in were punk rock bands. The reason I think it's so stupid is that - what, like the Bad Brains weren't emotional?' - Picciotto

Hah what the eff? I didn't expect to see a lame "emo" argument on this video. At no point while listening to Rites or any such DC indie/hc bands have I ever even thought of that empty and meaningless pseudo-label. And Guy would agree: "I've never recognized "emo" as a genre of music. I always thought it was the most retarded term ever... The reason I think it's so stupid is that - what, like the Bad Brains weren't emotional? What - they were robots or something?" - Picciotto - 2003 interview

@charlessale I think they add color to the video and even some historical context, Charles. I like that people still have discussions about music and bands and stuff :)
