Grew up with my parents playing the Evie Sands version, so I knew it by heart when Juice Newton covered it. I think Juice Newton's rendition is the most moving. The others are a bit flat.

I think people are more critical of people who try to sing who are known for something else first. If I had heard this song and not know who it was, I would say it was a really good remake of the song.

Don't quit the day job you never had. Nothing more pathetic than someone grabbing for starlight who doesn't have what it takes, and/or didn't stretch themselves to where it took to be there. Rita, give up, you really are not good. FOr god's sake, couldn't you at least write some original material, instead of doing covers? Your voice is nothing special. I feel so bad for Tom Hanks. He's married to an attention nut.
