The girl on the right is Debbie Yule. She joined the band in 1967

These demos were supposedly recorded on September 5, 1969, at Record Plant Studios (?), New York City, NY. Take 1 is available on the "What Goes On" box set. Take 2 is the same take, just with additional studio chatter and noise at the beginning. It's available on the "Ride Into the Sun" 1987 EP bootleg.

Holy mackeral - they were YOUNG!!!! (And the song is really nice - in the canon with Sunday Morning and I'll Be Your Mirror - my favorite VU era.)

I prefer hissy, dodgy demo recordings like this! Producers these days...

this song really showcases the VU. cut it up into individual tracks, and their really is nothing phenomenal going on. basic riffs, rythym tracks, and lyrics. the blend, though, transcends the total of the parts. all their work strikes me the same way. blending plain vanilla into a sublime example of creativity. out-damn-standing!!!

It's a home demo. This is the best version musically, but sadly you won't get this same rendition in a better quality
