Wow, I just went back and listened to my old "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" CDs, volumes 1 and 2, going back nearly 40 years. What fantastic stuff! What a collection of talent! Here's a video I made for Ricky Skaggs and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band members Jeff Hanna, Jimmy Ibbotson and Bob Carpenter singing "Little Mountain Church House", from volume 2. Look at these musicians!

Lead vocal & guitar: Ricky Skaggs

Harmony vocal: Jeff Hanna

Harmony vocal: Jimmy Ibbotson

Harmony vocal & accordion: Bob Carpenter

Drums: Jimmie Fadden (another NGDB member)

Piano: Buck White

Banjo: Bela Fleck

Guitar: Randy Scruggs (you know his father)

Mandolin: Mark O'Connor (sorry, no fiddle in this one, so he gets the mandolin)

Dobro: Jerry Douglas (who else?)

Upright bass: Roy Huskey, Jr. (RIP)

I love this song. It is the antithesis of the chapters in Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" which focus on the feud between the Shepherds and the Grangerfords, After the Sunday service in the little mountain church house, the two feuding families engage in a murderous assault on each other, leaving Huck with horrible memories. So much for nostalgia.

Eternity, It's Your Choice

Being raised in church & listening to Billy Graham preach his sermons on television is what influenced me to give my heart to Christ at age 11. Thanks for adding the lyrics to the video. Beautiful job! God bless you!

Well, it's hard to "practice" something like "be not deceived". And I'm not sure I'd call that a commandment; rather it's simply good advice. It takes discipline to always be on our guard for Satan's deception. He's sneaky. We need to be discerning about everything we hear, and reflect back on the Bible to discover the truth. That's why it's so important that we study the Bible so diligently so that we will be equipped to deal with Satan's sneaky attacks.

Music is one thin, findin the commandments in the Bible, and followin them, is another. One commandment, for instance, "be not deceived". How many practice that?
