I'm not a fan of this set of songs either but RLJ works extremely hard and tours often. She had a drug issue many, many years ago, she never had a problem with alcohol, she was photographed once with a bottle on stage and that pic went some way to people assuming she did. She is recording and releases a new set of originals next month. In between, she has done some amazing work since 'Magazine'.

And to think she made "Pirates" and "The Magazine"???...the drugs and the drink have finally taken their toll on her talent. Sad to listen to, in years to come she will say she made this album because of "Contractual Obligations!!...WTF!!...so disappointing!

What lyrics mean to a song, that´s how to do it.

I think I can imagine what's going on here. Joni Mitchell did "SHINE" Even Radiohead did "THE KING OF LIMBS." Time rules the metric of art, and most people don't like having to admit that there's no going back to the way things were. We can try to listen to them again, but even our tastes change.

It's brilliant. I'd almost want to hear it but without the guitar, acapella, but I'd be too scared to hear it in a big house with no one home and all the lights off -- she makes it sound like a real demon, twisted and sick and sneaky and creepy and quiet and somewhere close by and looking for you.... Scary! It's brilliant...!

I've heard better covers from old homeless junkies without tongues. This is purely awful and terrible.

Rickie, what's puzzling me is the nature of why you chose to cover this song! Contrary to the comments here, this is what's called a mistake. A bad mistake. I'm as big of fan of RLJ as anyone else. This doesn't work. Awful. My guess is folks here would praise Rickie for singing anything. What's next, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep? Please.

usally I don't love covers, but, wow, what a classy situation, here! thanx Rickie... (apropos: back in the 80's, Woman at her volcano is one of the best, emotional, perfect, 'human' album ever made. a real little, eternal diamond!)

This is absolutely one of her best albums...please listen and put away the pop nonsense, this is music of raw emotions,at it's best I bought this yesterday, when down in the dumps (after a shocking and unbelievable week) awaiting my ride to come home, what a fabulous acquisition. You may not like it but please listen to the lyrics and just think and breathe...meditation time ))O((
