Well, Jim Carter . . . let's be careful here . . . Oscar Brown Jr. wrote the LYRICS---the gifted Bobby Timmons composed the MUSIC---FIRST! A great talent . . . gone much too soon.Gary in Arizona

@jokitosh ,,, on this song, to me,,Rickie sounds like a little girl asking for an elephant,,,, the velvet fog,, mel sounds great but like an old guy on night court,,, that you might be worried to have watch your kids,

Rickie was the first artist I felt ashamed of liking because she wasn't black but she sounded so good. How stupid of a 15 year old. Today because of all the hype and gimmicks in the business I don't hear too much from her. She is one of the greats, and I can say proudly that I'm glad I was privileged to witness the beginning of a superstar whose star has only got brighter.

well, i don't know how to cope with my addiction to drugs and being torn by my child. Can't you help and marry me ? where are my nails ? I used all my nails to nail this song. (Rickie Lee, forgive me, maybe lowering a minor third might help !)
