I'm not really a country guy but I liked the pared down sound of this. This is off his "Bloomed" album. It's about the long dark tea time of the soul as the writer Douglas Adams might say. No superhero lyrics on this one.

Wish there was video to go with this, but so what? This is one of the greatest songs EVER WRITTEN. "Christ, how this life from mud to miracle is just the prettiest burden, isn't it?" Holy S---!!! Damn near socked me into shock when I first heard it years ago. Wow! Richard Buckner is an American treasure. And though he has a good fan base, he is way under-appreciated. An artist of the first order.
