Rich Mullins was an incredible musician! Watch some of his concerts playing piano and dulcimer--an outstanding original writer of music. What I appreciate most about his songs is the raw honesty and humility of his heart and spirit that flows through each one. I used to listen to some of his songs back in the 90's, but really didn't pay attention. A renewed interest came with watching the movie Ragamuffin--the story of his life. Watch it and be moved.

Rich has always reached deep down in my heart and brought out thoughts, prayers, that I couldn't bring out like he could. What a great artist and humble man.

He said in an interview that this song was about his break up with a girl he and been deeply in love with and she married someone else.

I am motivated and moved by his honesty which is so rare to find. He was who he was, didn't try to be something different. The movie Ragamuffin, is about his life, was recently released shows his dark side but his relentlessness of always turning back to the light.

This profound statement will have a strong tendency to ring ever stronger in this end time, individually and collectively in the body of Christ and the nation if we dare made the indescribably horrifying mistake of forgetting the God of the bible. Which we are doing and have been doing for the longest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the CD-cover spoke to me: the eyes are the window of the soul. Without vision we cannot really move forward, into the world where God places us (e.g., "we are not as strong as we think we are"). Being in the Church necessarily places us in this world. Maybe not Rich's intent, but music has a way of meeting us where we're at.

It´s interesting..The cover of this CD has impacted me like few others...The fact that Rich covers his face to me shows surrender and humility..

Rich Mullens, R.I.P., never walked a "fine line" between good and evil. He was the epitomy of what most Christian artists today should be more of. He was human and admitted it, but his glory was always in Christ Jesus!

Rich Mullins was one of the most interesting Christian musicians I have listened too. I saw your comment about this photo looking dark and evil, and I wanted to say I think your right. To me, part of Rich Mullin's charm was that he tried really hard to be good, but he would never say he was innocent. From what I have heard of him, he does not strike me as the kind of person to say I can do no wrong. Where has that kind of Christian gone? Maybe he knew something we should not have forgotten... :(

One of the first things I want to do when I get to heaven is to thank Rich for being obedient and writing the songs he wrote before he left us...I pray that others will think the same about me the day I'm gone.

Listening to Rich Mullens, I think of Keith Green and Larry Norman..The three of them were different from the rest of the bunch and they made a difference with their music...One can't help but wondering why they had to go so soon..Only God knows what he needed them for..
