One thing, it is very interesting the demos got out. I know I created my copies but never let anyone copy them and the 1/2 track reels went with Rich. Regardless, thank you so very much for sharing a small part of Rich's life here! :D

Rich was ok with it as it was only the demo and we literally were running out of time for him to get back to Memphis. This came from one of two demo sessions we had together. The 2nd demo involved this young, tiny lady with an extremely powerful voice. I kept thinking "WOW!" I was very stupid for never getting photos but I felt as the engineer that would have been tacky. At least I was smart enough to capture the demo sessions to cassette! Take care! Bill Hemmert

We had fun with this one! When I heard what he wanted, sort of an old style sound, he played all the intro tracks on the Roland M-50. It was my idea for the radio static in the background. I remember how critical it was to get the "explosion sound" just right through the passage. He was very good at doing stuff like that. I believe this was the last one we mixed out and I as very disappointed in a couple of the tracks for a bit of distortion.

Interesting. I've always loved this song. I like the tone & urgency of the intro of this version. Quite a change from the released track.
