I saw Rez in San Antonio at Trinity University (2nd Chapter also played there) back in the 80's. Very many people had a problem with hard Christian rock but I wished there had been more.

The crew I worked on had a guy who was a part timer at David Wilkersons ministry near Lindale, TX. He couldn't stand the Rez band, but when I first put some Petra on my boom box, he was hugely conflicted. Since Petra's lyrics are easier to understand he was able to hear their words of worship and he'd be like "their words are so poetic and right on... but that music... arg." LEL. Some people just can't get past the modern music aspect of it all.

Well, as long as you realize just because some say "Jesus, Jesus" doesn't mean they'll be recognized by him either. What will matter is what is in their hearts. Have they been true followers of Christ, or just people going along for the ride?

Sadly, it's equally a shame as to some (dare I say much in some cases) of what is being called CCM. They say "God" but you never hear "Jesus." You hear "Lord" but you never hear "Jesus." 'In that day many will come saying 'Lord, Lord...' A group of us went down to JPUSA from WI in the late 70's I think...it was just before they moved to their new digs? Unfortunately we didn't know Rez was out on tour, so we did not get to experience radical worship Sunday. I loved Cornerstone mag. Thanx.

Amen brother, to include the "Heavenly Metal" This song happens to be my theme song for my life, and it lifts me up in worship, hands raised and thanking the Lord Jesus Christ for delivering someone like me. For this one thing I am convinced: there is NO good thing in me...I need a Savior.

Grew up on the Rez Band! Love the messages in their songs. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Those without sin cast the first stone. No Alibi!

PSALMS 150 = ROCK -N- ROLL !!! ROCK WAS IN HEAVEN. LUCIFER WAS IN CHARGE OF THE WORSHIP SERVICE. BUT HE GOT BIG HEADED....TO THE POINT..THAT HE STARTED TO GROW HORNS, BUT THAT CAME LATER. OK, HE WANTED 'PRAISE' FOR WHAT HE DONE. SO STARTED MAKING THE SERVICES ABOUT HIM, INSTEAD OF GOD. BIG MISTAKE. HE GOT KICKED OUT. SO HE SAID ,"OK, I'LL JUST GO AN MESS UP EVERYTHING THAT IS GOD'S" WELL, HE TRIED, THEN IN 1970 A.D. THE JESUS MOVEMENT STARTED....AN WE GAVE IT BACK TO GOD !!!

Oh please. Those people believe that if music isn't strictly "worship" music then it MUST be satanic. What a bunch of misguided ignoramuses. There's even those "worship" Christians that believe if the worship music isn't from something written 200 years ago, well then THAT must be satanic too. I got news for them, GOD LOVES THIS STUFF. GOD LOVES ROCK THAT PRAISES HIM. It don't matter WHAT you sound like or what style you use, so long as it praise God, HE DIGS IT. period.

Awesome. Thanks for posting this. I used to play this on my boom box way back in the early 80's working on a roofing crew in East Texas. Sadly, many christians at the time considered this genre of music to be "satanic". -boggle-

The Rez Band, cool! I saw them in Dallas in 1983 at SMU, when I was visiting a friend at the Christ for the Nations Institute, it was awesome. Thanks for helping to bring back an awesome memory!
