Stanley Clarke just makes that look so easy and effortless

Cut my jazz teeth on this album and now I have vinyl between them. The engineering of this album is really ahead of its time too— i Bet a painstaking affair like Steely Dan Aja. I might be wrong but a counterpoint to this is Brand X Unorthodox Behavior— I always listened to both albums back to back—quirky but smokin’ fusion that makes one run around engaged in frenetic housework. Better than any SSRI medication!

I actually saw this on tv at the time. A mere teenager. One of the most stunning life-changing moments of my life. I keep returning to see if it was really THAT good. Guess what...

gareththefireman"janderson: Do you now or have you ever played a musical instrument?"I seriously doubt it. He sounds like another non-musician hack making comments for the sole purpose of stirring up shit.

@janderson2000 "Uh...Fragile...The Yes Album...Going for the One... it goes on...all brilliant."Yes is a great group for their style, but they're a joke compared to RTF and Mahavisnu in terms of musical and technical brilliance. Stating otherwise is mere petulance.

@Beatrix333lol This IS music. Real composers, instrumentalists and artists. I had the luck to go see them perform at Tampa, a week ago. Zappa plays Zappa opened.

@Gabepaullikegirls I think that the saddest part is that except Internet you can't share this passion with peoples around you because they won't understand why you like that which will maybe kind of exclude you from them.

Believe it or not I once saw Al as the warm up band for Kenny Loggins...Lucky if half the crowd was left by the time Kenny finished...I know I wasn't.

Absolute magic. This is pure bliss. I bought this album when it came out in the 70s. Love it then love it even more now. I saw this same lineup play live a couple of of years ago on their 25th year reunion tour in Los Angesles and they were even better. The night I saw them it was Chick Corea's 65th birthday. This is music at its very best.

Dude! I wish there was more people in the world like the two people who got high rated comments. Jazz is pure music, Chick is the best damn pianist ever!
