Absolute treasure. I have always loved both The Parting Glass and Restless Farewell. Beautiful songs. Dylan, as ever, goes beyond the original and creates something amazing and personal. The combination of these two voices and songs is a masterpiece.

RichinNOLA, I just found your comment from three years ago. Bob Dylan was deep into the folk scene, and was well aware of many traditional songs. It is apparent that his version was intentional, as many folk singers and troubadours of times past did that very thing -- that is why it is called folk singing. Songs were altered, adapted, added to, or new lyrics matched to old tunes. That is the way of folk music.

That was so good, tears came to my eyes. His life, her wonderful coaxing voice and it was live......what more could you ask for.

Bob rewrote it, but it's been around for ages. This isn't Bob's version.

I didn't realise until the end that it was a live performance. What a fantastic performance and well done to the poster. Bob Dylan knew of the great traditional songs and used them to create his own versions and there is nothing wrong with that.

I think he is still greatly missed even though four years have passed since his death. He has left a gap which is not easily to be filled, if to be filled at all.
