Have you ever ridden horses through a rainstorm

Or led a lion through a busy street bazaar?

There are many things I'd love to turn you on to

But somehow I feel they're safer where they are

Well, some people in bound infatuation

While some others spell depression as the law

Someone's mother getting no imagination

So beware then, baby, sin is at everyone's door

Don't be the man, I know with no expressions, Lord

Ain't got none at all

Pity the man I know with no expressions, Lord

Ain't got none at all

But you'll never, no you'll never see this man laughing

Come to think of it, I've never seen this man cry

But you might by sitting quietly hear him singing

By and by, he'll stop and sigh

His voice will even start to speak and he will say goodbye

Have you ever ridden horses through a rainstorm

Or led a lion through a busy street bazaar?

There are many things I'd love to turn you on to

But somehow I feel they're safer where they are.

I seen the footage they have on youtube from 1971 which is really cool they seemed like they pretty heavy rock anti war with a little blues they were great from 71 to say 81 but I would love to see some live stuff with Mike Murphy and Gary singing he sang a lot of songs between 73 and 76 the cow album and he never did another track after that he wrote a lot of there music he had a decent voice

First released version by Terry Reid in 1970 (I think). He wrote it with Graham Nash, so there are versions by the Hollies and CSNY. John Mellencamp also covered it. Thanks for uploading -- I never heard this one!

I remember my Aunt ( she was 19, me 12) telling me of this Band in Carbondale where she had a friend going to College & they were playing a club or clubs there? If I had only known lol plus been about 6 yrs. older. Bet those were some great times. I live about an hr. from there now, even. Thanks 4 your comment. : ) I'd forgotten all about her telling me those stories. She is the one that introduced me to Beatles at 7-8. lol God bless her.
