I really don't know what to say and very, very rarely comment. I'm truly touched...perhaps even life changing. Thank you heidigretel for posting but most importantly Michael, Mike, Peter, and Bill for essentially writing the stories of our lives...It's all encompassing. Much love & gratitude.

I don't know if it's the song or the voice that makes me cry! The angels only wish they could sing like this.

This song is a stunning masterpiece. It's the proof that show us that REM made brilliant songs also in their third decade. I've been high sounds like an a immediate classic, Thanks Heidi, this version is beatiful.

Very true, Prince. But Michael was more a novelist, a storyteller, writing music lyrics than anyone I can think of aside from Bob Dylan. They made great melodic music but those stories were often so strange, informative, always intelligent and they stay with me. Also I spent my teenage years in the American south so I identify with REM in that way. You have your reasons for thinking they're the best and I'll just say that you have excellent taste in music.

they're generally more melodic than anyone else, wouldn't you say? and that's the reason why they matter the most

An absolutely stunning performance of this most beautiful song. I go back to Beatles-era music and honestly there has never been a group, including The Beatles, whose music has meant anything even close to what REM's has meant to me. Can their record company please include this performance on any future retrospective cd?? The Reveal version is cluttered with needless electronica
