It took awhile before I found Crush With Eyeliner but I'm so appreciative of the creativity, originality, and passion these four incredible people put into this song. Mike Mills' background vocals are superb! Peter Buck's artistry drives this song forward. Bill Berry continues to amaze. And, Michael is AMAZING!

It isn't a "parody" at all. Bill had long wanted to do a rock n' roll album which is partially what resulted in Monster. After Out of Time, Buck wanted to cut a rock record "straight to 2 track". Those are the decisions that led to Monster.

Michael Stipe was at the same Fugazi show as me in 1991, haha - I heard thru the crowd he wasn't very nice.. but I guess he was just wantin to enjoy the show. Tough shit famous boy. Even tho I was never a fan.. can't deny this one.

I saw them during this 1995 tour (Allstate) and they were awesome! Monster is their best album IMHO.
