The gasps that she adds in DEMAND your attention, the pull you into the song, grasp you emotionally. It's like her way of reflecting the dying breaths of the Jewish prisoners as they struggle for air as they're being gassed. Every time I hear that passage of the song I feel my heart being wrenched out and I'm pulled into this song with every inch of my being. Sorry to break it to you guys, but her voice is being pitch corrected. It doesn't sound like autotune in the traditional sense where the engineer tweaks the vocal track after it's recorded... It sounds like the pitch processing is happening in real-time. You can tell when she glides from a note to another; each pitch shifts to the closest note in the chromatic scale. It's the engineers' crappy decision, not hers.11 years ago
