This is one of the reasons why we shouldn't go to war, not sure about the dust and dirt they are in now 4:32 long. A lot of good blokes died or come back sick in the head and body, knew a few back then one cried when he was drunk, one had the itch, etc. Sad really.

Every time you meet a vet or a someone currently serving - pause for a moment, tell them, "Thanks for your service", shake their hand and look them in the eye. This is a cultural tradition I learned in the USA - we should do it here too. This doesn't glorify the war but acknowledges the sacrifice and hardships suffered in our name. So, from me to all you diggers, pussers, and crabs (past and present) a heart-felt and earnest, "Thanks for your service - god bless you all!".

It really doesn't matter which war it was, the guys went to war, many gave their lives, most of them were too young to even vote at the time, most were to young to legally have a beer at the local pub (legally) but they still went to serve their country. In 1915 Our men were slaughtered before they even hit land, any of the survivors are now long gone. War is war, it injures, mames and kills not just physically but mentally. I listened to the Bushwackers version of "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" that and this song truly rings home what all soldiers gave.... They deserve more respect than they have ever received. I was enraged when the RSL refused to acknowledge those who served in Vietnam... after-all they were Conscripts, most were "Ordered" to go, even though it was not technically classified as a "War" they still went they still gave their lives. Even though the RSL now accepts them, it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth what they did. I wonder how many of those who were "running" the RSL back then were actually Returned Service people??? I'd almost bet very few did were. All returned service people have my utmost gratitude and respect. Thank-you.
