Red Sovine sings this beautiful Country music song that makes the hair stand up on my arms. The song was written by Joe Kingston, Chaw Monk and John Duffey in 1966 and have also been recorded by Mac Wiseman and by Country Gentlemen. I've made a Slide Show with pictures I found on Google. I have no rights to either the song nor the pictures. Enjoy your "goosebumps" :).

This is a true story that happens in James Town NC . For many years people thought the girls names Lydia and even named a bridge Lydia's bridge , but after research the girls name turned out to Marry . And people still see the girl at the bridge. A driver picks up the girl to take her home only to have a woman to answer the door she shows the driver a photo, the driver said " That's her " only to her that marry was kill Ed in a car crash . This happened in the 1920's in james town NC . The mother was said to have appeared to young girl and said " You look like my marry" the had died just before. I grew up hearing this story, like it was truth : there's a version where he gives her his sweater, 'cause it's a chilly night - and he drives to the cemetery to pay his respects and there's his sweater, draped over her tombstone.

I tip my hat to Country Star Red Sovine, because he is the only singer that can sing this hard to sing song ever so smoothly. It is a song that awaited his voice.
