Dave is such a great guitarist, and the album one hot minute is a really great album. It was just overlooked because of the huge success that Blood Sugar Sex Magik had. The Peppers were actually in the starting process of another album with Dave Navaro but he shorty got fired from the band before it ever had a chance to be released, and Dave states in an interview that his favorite song that he made with the peppers was off of that album that was never released, so that kind of sucks we will never get a chance to hear it

Bless Frusciante and his genius. But Navarro too is genius, his work with the Jane's Addiction and the Chilis is really properly decent. You shouldn't be hated for tryi

I mean...this is great dirty funk rock. Dave is awesome. Why does everybody hate him?

This. Seriously, what was so fucking wrong with him that everyone hates him? There's some real gems on OHM. It's better than IWY, for sure. The first album with a new gutiarist is never what the band really is, it takes time to adjust. One Hot Minute is awesome, and this is my favorite song off of it (with My friends) (and eys I know this isn't actually ON the album) My point is, Dave gets hate for no reason other than the album being a little tougher on the ears. He's awesome, deal with it.

The Navarro era Chili Peppers is actually my favorite time for the band. I love how he brought a hard rock influence to the band and gave them more of an edge. The sound he brought was a nice change of pace and it's sad to me that things didn't work out and they couldn't make more albums together. And they also, IMO, were at their best live with Navarro. If you haven't seen the full Woodstock 1994 show, go watch it, to me that's as good as they have ever been live.

Totally with you there. I think he combines bending the string with the wa-wa pedal, but who the hell knows. :)
