Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul To Squeeze, a track originally recorded during the production of their fifth studio album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). But it wasn't featured on the record--and compiled as a B-side to "Under The Bridge". It was then later released as a single in 1993. I do not own the contents within, no copyright is intended.

(Lyrics)

I've got a bad disease

But from my brain is where I bleed.

Insanity it seems

Has got me by my soul to squeeze.

Well all the love from thee

With all the dying trees I scream.

The angels in my dreams (yeah)

Have turned to demons of greed that's mean.

Where I go I just don't know

I got to got to gotta take it slow.

When I find my peace of mind

I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Today love smiled on me.

It took away my pain said please

All that you had to free

You gotta let it be oh yeah.

Where I go I just don't know

I got to got to gotta take it slow.

When I find my peace of mind

I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Oh, so polite indeed

Well I got everything I need.

Oh make my days a breeze

And take away my self destruction.

It's bitter baby,

And it's very sweet.

I'm on a roller coaster,

but I'm on my feet.

Take me to the river,

Let me on your shore.

I'll be coming back baby,

I'll be coming back for more.

Doo doo doo doo dingle zing a dong bone

Ba-di ba-da ba-zumba crunga cong gone bad

I could not forget

But I will not endeavor

Simple pleasures aren't as special

But I wont regret it never.

Where I go I just don't know

I got to got to gotta take it slow.

When I find my peace of mind

I'm gonna give you some of my good time.

Where I go I just don't know

I might end up somewhere in Mexico.

When I find my peace of mind

I'm gonna keep you for the end of time.

Emotions...are definitely real. They are physical chemicals in the brain and they literally affect our health. Check out the documentary "Stress: Portrait of a Killer". Shit passes, but if laziness and fear and procrastination keep happening, there's always more shit on your doorstep. You've got to do something to actively pull yourself out of it—a therapist or self-help, etc. Overcoming depression requires incredible self-will—from an individual with none. But it's possible. GL BRO!

I'm on Lexapro too.. as well as Buspar and Klonopin.. battled depression my whole life and all the therapy in the world can't help you if your brain's chemistry isn't on board.. I actually just started Abilify and my depression is completely gone, I've never felt such relief from it's grips as I do now

We the people

Indeed, on top of Ryan, except that if it doesn't pass with time and a therapist see a doctor because you may have clinical depression. I wish I didn't have clinical cause then I could just skydive or workout but none of that makes any real differences in the long run for me, its good and helps but meds are even better. I have been on lexapro for over a year and a half and it changed and saved my life. If depression runs in your family its a good sign you may have clinal imbalances, if not, run.

I've been down too, man. But there is more to life. It's a struggle to beat depression, but it's possible to live with it, and live well. This world's so fucked up, but there is a way (read: many, many, many different ways) to survive in it. This song and the music of the Chili Peppers are so flavored by "mental illness", and it's beautiful and inspiring. You may be skeptical, but I would recommend looking into meditation. Also, keep listening to and/or making music.

This song makes me cry almost everytime I listen to it..I was in a band with my bros, and my older brother died of cancer last September. It was also the week before RHCP's concert, and I still have his ticket with me..along with the fact that we never got to cover this one..But this was one of his favorites, and I try to stay positive everyday
