its not there song so its not a b-side, b-sides are songs they actually where going to put on the album but didnt or there songs they made after the album

I answered your question. It's not a B-Side, It's a bonus track off of Stadium Arcadium when you buy the album off of Itunes. They did start to cover it in 2001, yes. But they've pretty much (in my opinion) took it as there own song, so they got the copyrights and shit from the Ramones, and then the Chili Peppers recorded it. It's a bonus track, not a B-Side.
