This is an excerpt of the movie "Red Dirt on 66 - Director's cut". Rocky Frisco was baptized in this old church in the early 1940's. In 2011, 70 years later he returned to the same building, which was converted into a legendary recording studio decades ago. The "Red Dirt on 66" crew took him there to play one song on the grand. The song is a Rocky Frisco original, "The blues for you". This is a long overdue tribute. Google "Rocky Frisco" for more information about this extraordinary Oklahoma musical legend. Rocky is still active and performing live.

Rocky, I met you as I was a young man in the early 2000's on the road by the stadium in T-town. (not saying what road it was) but needless to say, when you took me for a ride in that cooper to see some more of your coopers.. (all of which I could not afford at the time... LOL) I began to do research on you. You have become one of my most favorite artists rocky... you probably don't remember me but... I will NEVER forget you... you are at the heart and soul of the Tulsa music scene! God Bless

OMG!!!...The man has talent!!!...I hung with Rocky in the early 70s here in Toronto and I never knew he could play any instrument let alone compose music!!!...I thought he was just a gifted artist (painter) with a hot girlfriend (Cathy)...I recently got in touch with him (finally) after not a word for almost 40 years and holy shit the things he's accomplished...!!!...Well, congrats to all of you for making what will obviously be a significant documentary highlighting a unique good man & artist.

I had the honor of doing a bit of music with this cat back in 1974-75. You can see and hear Rocky play locally in Tulsa seems almost daily. Super good man and musician! Rock on, Rocky!

Thank you to Jacob Miller and Michael Block for giving us access to the building. On this day we woke up in a cabin near Tahlequah, we filmed a scene with Trey Hill shooting his gun out of the window, we drove back to Tulsa in 45 (celcius) degrees, had lunch in the dinner across the road from the Church and waited for Jacob Miller. He came and gave us access to the studio and let us borrow the grand piano and a studio microphone (in the video). Finally a decent quality video of Rocky!
