This is from an album called The Circle and The Square by Red Box, a very good album but neither this one or their second album are available on CD. This song is Billy's Line, with added pictures from their record sleeve of the album, taken from http://www.thecircleandthesquare.co.uk/

Amen is tagged onto the end of the song, but isn't part of the song itself.

@sunhoney1uk I do love that line too, you don't get that in many pop songs. Yes, terrible shame about Stuart. It's ten years this December since we lost him. I still listen to Big Country a lot. You should check out Red Box's new album as well, and in fact their second album, Motive, is also out.

"A modern-day statistic in collateral damage" one of the greatest lines i know...hmmm indeed "Billy's Line" eh? I had forgotten this band, bouth the album years ago... but I now realise just how brilliant it was. Pompous, satirical, quirky - but brilliant. Thanks for post. The memories have come flooding back. Additionally, I had no idea that Staurt Adamson had passed away. One of my first crushes. I think a tear or two would be in order.

@apislapis Thanks Apislapis, yes indeed I am a huge Big Country fan. Well spotted. Stuart Adamson was a hero of mine, and if you look at my account and watch the AHAB clips, you can see his son carrying on the tradition. Red Box were excellent, and now that I have the CD, often bring it out to play.

Excellent album, reminds me of happy times at Teesside Poly. Thanx 4 posting theporrohman, any Big Country connection? RIP Stuart Adamson, you adorned my sister's bedroom walls, ALL FOUR SIDES! Steeltown Tour, Liverpool Empire, I was there.

Thanks Huw. The CD has only just recently been released, after nearly 21 years of the album coming out. I may do some more Red Box at some point.
