Here's a Raymond Fairchild original tune. Once again shows his amazing command of the Reno single string style mixed with Scruggs style and dead solid timing. He's leaving nothing out here - full tilt banjo attack.

Absolutely awesome.

I would imagine his reason for never smiling is that he is too busy concentrating to worry about it.

He's an incredible banjo picker, but why does he always have a look on his mug like he's in the middle of a vicious case of perpetual diarrhea? Empty those bowels Raymond and smile. Give your face a joyride.

Raymond Fairchild, Don Reno, and Eddie Adcock are the undisupted masters of the single string playing style, each having his own unique sound. By the way all three have played Stellings at some point in their careers. I play a Stelling Staghorn myself, but I can never make it sound like these fellas did!

@alextw13jf Geoff gave Raymond 2 banjo's a sunflower and a masterpiece. I think this one is the masterpiece. He now owns a crusader which is also a great banjo

@texican65 without a doubt a Stelling; to me looks like a Golden Cross model but I might be wrong!

you got that right brother, he combined the two styles, and formed his own, kinda like saying Clapton + Hendrix = Stevie Ray Vaughn

This ain't reno or scruggs style. This is RAYMOND style. He never has and never will copy anybody. Don's double pickin' was similar but not like this. Raymond did his on thing and has always sounded apart from all the others. If you don't believe it call him and ask him..he'll be glad to tell you.
