monster hit from 1978 with Ray Parker on keyboards. if I'm not mistaken, Jerry Knight sang lead on most of Raydios' songs.

On this day in 1978 {March 25th} Raydio performed "Jack and Jill" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'...At the time the song was at #15 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; fifteen days later on April 9th, 1978 it would peak at #8 {for 3 weeks} and spent 21 weeks on the Top 100...

Ray Parker was an R&B / pop prodigy. In crashing the incredibly competitive LA '70's R&B / pop studio scene in his tender teens, (!) Ray worked on classic monster hits with all-timers such as Barry White, AND he was in Stevie Wonder's band (!). Which brings to mind the fact that since the advent of the hip-hop / DJ era ( from about 1980, (along with, criminally, the cutting of school music programs); Gen-Xers and Millennials (sp.) lost interest in playing musical instruments; so, most of them, sadly, can't play or write complete, original songs.

Beautiful chorus :) The rest is quite reminiscent of "Can You Feel It?" too :)

Classic song take a nursery rhyme and make a modern day soap opera style R and B groove.one of their signature joints in my opinion.
