Guess Sweet Ray was attending that Halloween party diguised as Billy Dee Williams, good job on that one. He also pretended to be a professional musician with this song, bad job on that avenue. Got to give him credit on gettin some white women back in '82 way before it became commonplace like it is today. That took some balls.

On this day in 1982 {March 14th} "The Other Woman" by Ray Parker, Jr. entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #77; and twelve weeks later June 6th, 1982 it peaked #4 {for 2 weeks} and spent 21 weeks on the Top 100...Before peaking at #4 it had spent three weeks at #5 on the Top 100...And on August 30th, 1982 it reached #1 {for 1 week} on the Australian Kent Music Report chart; and #2 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...Between 1982 and 1990, as a solo artist, he had ten Top 100 records; two made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Ghostbusters" for three weeks in August 5th, 1984...Prior to going solo he was a member of Raydio, and from 1978 to 1981 the group had five Top 100 records, with three of them making the Top 10...Ray Erskine Parker, Jr. will celebrate his 61st birthday in less than two months on May 1st {2015}...
