Hey, that's the way it feels when your heart has been broken... A flood of emotions both good & bad run through you. I still remember when I actually got mine broken for the first time, and it still hurts... a little. As for this song: I dug it well-before my heart-break, and now it has added meaning afterwards. Plus, I just imagine a li'l video of my own to go with it. Nothing violent, mind you... Just images of her & my tastefully arranged. And yes, it is soothing.
