Jools Holland. Class act! I love seeing him on stage with my favorites. The shows he hosts always present the performers at their best. Great sound, lighting and always a friendly atmosphere.

was this the show ray forgot to get something that he's supposed to give to the contestant and he ended up having to give up one of his shoes?

I'd say Davies and Lennon are tied for England's finest songwriters. Both are leagues above McCartney, as are Harrison, Coward, Morrissey, Albarn, Dave Davies, Townshend, and many others.

@birdman3120 There is that way of looking at it too. I'd say though you can assert an opinion, but the the two aren't the same thing just with simply two words to describe the exact same thing, but they are very similar. And you're right in that it's pointless trying to change people's opinions. It just annoys me when people dictate their opinions to others and state them as if they are facts. Especially when they are in the wrong on it anyway.

@Underground906 Fair enough, if it wasn't aimed as an insult. I am simply saying that an assertion is an opinion put across more strongly, as if it is true. The point is that it is his opinion that Davies is better than Macca, that is what he believes, and as I have learnt over time, you can't change people's beliefs.

@birdman3120 Stated positively means it's stated as being true, that's what I meant. And that last bit, I honestly didn't mean that as an insult. Just to tell the different, which was subtle, would require that. I wasn't suggesting you lacked it.

@Underground906 As I said an opinion is a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. They are the same thing. An assertion is an opinion but put across more strongly. I like you little insult at the end, very cutting(!) :-D
