Look, I'm very happy that Ray BLK has won BBC Music Sounds of 2017, but if the soul singer is going to succeed on a massive scale, she needs to write outside of her postcode, beyond the world of full English breakfast at a caff, Pepys estate and Morley's Chicken.At the moment, her lyrics are too parochial and she will need to branch out if she's to follow in the footsteps of her influences Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott and Timbaland.
