Ray Anthony did not play on the 1942 version recorded for Orchestra Wives and released as an RCA Victor 78 single with Ray Eberle on vocals. He did play on the original 1941 version, however, which appeared only as an orchestral version in the film Sun Valley Serenade. The 1941 vocal version with John Payne and Pat Friday on vocals was not used in the film. It was not released at the time. The 1942 version is a new recording when Ray Anhony was no longer in the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

His recording revived interest in the song originally recorded by Glenn Miller with Ray Anthony in 1941, first appearing in the 20th Century Fox film Sun Valley Serenade. Ray Anthony peaked at no. 2 on Billboard and no. 20 on Cashbox. His recording was the highest charting release of the song on the pop charts. Glenn Miller peaked at #9 in 1942. Etta James peaked at #47 in 1961. Anthony played on the 1941 original.
