That harmonica player appears to be Jimmy Riddle, who some will remember as the "eefin'" guy on Hee-Haw a decade or two later.

Anyone know who the fiddler is? Love seeing this footage even if the video quality had deteriorated.. I also wonder if digital restorations have or are being done?

The only known moving picture that shows Hank with the body movements that were the forerunner to the modern performance era. Looks natural for Hank. look at the head movements the, eye and face, and the body that just rotated to the music.

Maybelle, Helen, Anita, and June did a number on one of the Kate Smith appearances. It's in the first two minutes of a YouTube clip titled "June Carter and Hank Williams."

It looks more like Helen Carter to me, but it's hard to tell for sure. It could be Anita. Mother Maybelle Carter is behind and to the right of June, and can be seen between June and Roy. This is a Kinescope film of an appearance of Roy and other "Opry" performers on the "Kate Smith Evening Hour" from 1952. They appeared on her show twice. Once in March and again in April of 1952.

I remember when my mother would be watching some of these shows and back then as a child I didn't realize how great Hank Williams, Sr., really was. And I didn't like the old country music that much. But, I have to say: as I came to be an adult and had my heart broken, I realized what a jewel he really was. I have all of his songs. Now, I don't know about you But, in my opinion I have to say: He sang from the heart. What you heard from him --- was who he really was. I wished I'd been his girl.

Wonderful! June Carter was on the left, but was that Anita Carter to the right of Hank?
