I have used this song as a school counselor to help our students understand that giving service to others makes us a better person. You never regret doing the right thing. What is popular is not always right and what is right is not always popular. Peer pressure does not have to be a bad thing others make you choose to do. Let's help make peer pressure a good thing!

When Randy slipped up, and bought cigarettes, I just pray that they weren't for himself!

@pdwade1 Hi... you missed the point of the song. The points of light are individuals giving... not a big fat government taking and then giving to buy votes which puts half those hard earned dollars into the hands of big cats in bed with government. We feed the homeless by doing the giving ourselves... when you see what's wrong, and you try to make it right... individuals... individual points of light. Democrats believe ppl are basicly evil and won't help unless forced to.

Such a beautiful song. Not sure how Randy can sing this song about compassion and volunteerism while supporting Michele Bachmann. "Giving shelter to the homeless and hope to those without. Isn't that what this land's all about?" It's called Section 8 housing. Isn't that "entitlement" spending from the big, scary federal government?

This could be the companion quote to go with this very solid tune. "Never, never be afraid, to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way." — Martin Luther King Jr. Thank You for posting this gift!!! Will
