I don't see anything wrong with running a pedal in front of a amp even if it is a high end amp. Some of us want to either add a little gain or just change the tone just a bit to make it our own and a pedal is a pretty good and easy way to do that. I like running the boost pedal in the fx since that puts it after the preamp so it really just boosts for solos and if at times the amp just needs a little more volume rather than just pushing the preamp deeper into overdrive with it out front.9 years ago

Yeah ok, it's not the best of sounds but it's going through the two notes with just an IR. There are IRs that are made through a crancked power amp but still it's not the same for me.I guess in reall life applications these are very promising.9 years ago

I don't get why people use pedals if you have a decent amp. A distortion pedal? Yes, I totally want some bullshit tone. I can understand using them if you can't afford a high end amplifier, but if you have a good amp, run the gain from that and chuck those bullshit gain pedals. Not needed.9 years ago

i just got done talking to randalls customer tech service and kevin i think was his name? told me the rgod is or sounds the same as the rg13 preamp pedal. more just a dumb down cheaper version of the rg13. Im interested in the face punch haha9 years ago
