I want freedom, not a bossThat comes in a forty ounce bottle of anything,Or taped scotch paper.I eat meat and drive trucks and shoot guns and don’t trustIn the federal government to solve our problems. You might think I’m joking, but I’m not a republican.Call me when your president pulls out of Afghanistan,'Cause that’s the day I’ll get a cell phone number,And you can call and leave a message on voice mail that day.I fell asleep smoking so I’d wake up on fire,'Cause that might get me out of bed for a whileAnd back into battle with the things that I breathe,And the holes in my arms, and the way that I think. And if freedom is doing what I want, well that meansI gotta know what is, not just what it isn’t.So I’ll dig up the dirt and I’ll throw down some seeds,'Cause the world needs more spinach,Not more motherfuckers like me.Motherfuckers like me!

True, although Obama has announced plans to withdraw from Afghanistan, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but we fully withdrew from Iraq in 2011. You're technically right in saying "us forces" are in Iraq, as we have troops guarding the embassy, but it's worth noting that we have troops guarding all of our embassies.

There are still american forces in both Afghanistan and Iraq. So no, presumably.

I used to sing this song to my friend everyday after school. I thoroughly enjoyed it, he didn't :3

This is such a fantastic song. I really love the harmony in the second verse, it brings tears to my eyes every time.

I will say not a day goes by where I don't reflect upon situations I could have avoided if I just cared about myself as much as this person took did to take incentive upon them self to make shit better. It takes a lot of strength and courage to do what this person has done and to do what this person is doing now? Is inspiring... I have cut back on consumption and focused on what I truly love and I have wrote so much music its ridiculousness. An injury to one is an injury to all.

Pat's voice has found me at the darkest of times and the best of times. This music has become another part of who I am.

This song makes me stop doing whatever I'm doing at the moment, to get lost for a second, and feel the goosebumps rise on my arms.

I hope Pat reads all these comments on how his music has affected us all, maybe he'll just sit there and smile

I thought I was the only one that was so deeply affected by this music. I can't out into words how odd life is and how much I appreciate this music and the fans that are here. In 10 months I've become a soldier and wish I could go back to the way it was. Maybe it can happen again. thank you all for helping me realize there are people who still appreciate good music and feel as I do. Good night, and good luck.
