sonny bono's a joke and so is this song...hence the Ramones are the only band to capture the pop/trash irony of it because by that time punks had turned their backs on the flower-hippie lie while emulating the decline of society thru nihilist tendencies where the only needles and pins were a needle in the arm and a pin through some random piece of flesh...tho probably johnny thought it was some sort of tribute, dee dee knew anyway: shit the Ramones wouldn't have even been if not for dee dee!
