I saw them live for the first time one month after this...in Atlanta, Georgia. I had friends in college in Atlanta, ( I was in Florida). My friends told me the Ramones would be playing a four night gig at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom over Thanksgiving Weekend of that year. I flew up and went to see them two nights in a row. They played two sets a night, but the first night I went we left after the first set, as my one friend who came with me wasn't enchanted by them and he had to get back to his dorm to study. I went the next night by myself and stayed through both sets. They were terrific, and there were even people dancing to them. (The audience in the club both nights was not by any means capacity...just curiosity-seekers or those, like me, who were early fans of the Ramones. I saw them twice after that: in 1978 in Orlando, FL--with the Runaways as openers--and in 1980 in Gainesville, FL. I moved to NYC in 1981, but they weren't playing much anymore in the city as they were always touring, so I never did see them again.)

Sorry to see Tommy go. The Ramones were part of the soundtrack of my life and it's just sad that all the original members are gone. Well, the Ramones are playing a reunion show in heaven now.
