@bglad4life Well I use Cool Edit Pro to record. It's an old program already. It's now owned by Adobe and called Adobe Audition. It's got all kinds of effects built in like the preset compressor PowerDrums I use. The drums sound shitty if I don't put that compressor on it. And I eq it. My mic is a 100 dollar thing, something like a Sure SM 57. Also if I hang my mic from the ceiling the sound isn't that good. I place it in a stand with a round metal base which picks up a lot of the bassdrum.

@Adje1960 Thats crazy having that good of quality form one mic. I was in a recording studio with one of my old bands, and having one mic was not an option. We tried it and it sucked big time, so we had to mic almost every drum/cymbal. We were just trying to save money on time. I think I seriously need some good programs and the know-how to operate them for my vids on youtube. Got any suggestions?

@bglad4life There's one mic right in front of the drums. You can see it in the video. I then mix it in Cool Edit. I put a compressor on it (Power Drums preset) and an equalizer. That's it. You don't need thousands of microphones to get great sound. In the fifties and sixties everything was done with one mic.
